Duolingo scores are not typically used as a measure of language proficiency for college or university admissions. Admissions decisions are typically based on a combination of factors, such as academic transcripts, test scores (such as the TOEFL or IELTS), letters of recommendation, and personal statements. Some schools may also require an in-person or video interview to assess language proficiency.

However, in general, Duolingo assigns a score of around 100-120 for an average learner who has completed the basics of a language, and the score goes higher for more advanced levels. So, a score of 125 can be considered as above average in Duolingo.

Duolingo scores are not typically used as a measure of language proficiency for college or university admissions. Duolingo is a popular language learning app that assigns a score to users based on their progress and performance, but it is not a standardized test and is not widely accepted as an official measure of language proficiency.

Some universities or colleges may consider it as one of additional information, but it is not the main criterion. It's best to check with the specific schools you're applying to in order to understand their requirements for language proficiency.

I scored around the same range and initially worried about it. However, I realised that many universities are quite flexible with their English proficiency requirements, especially if your overall profile is strong. Universities understand that a test score isn't the sole indicator of your abilities.

My advice is to research the specific requirements of the universities you're interested in and reach out to their admissions office if you have concerns. Also, enhancing other aspects of your application can significantly boost your chances. Keep your spirits up!

A 125 in the Duolingo test is a respectable score, especially for non-native English speakers. It generally indicates that you have a good level of proficiency in English. However, admission criteria vary across universities. Some institutions may require higher scores, while others are more flexible and consider scores in this range as meeting their requirements.

It's crucial to check the specific language requirements of the programs and universities you're interested in. Additionally, remember that your overall application, including academic achievements, letters of recommendation, and personal essays, play a significant role in the admission process. Focus on presenting a well-rounded application to maximise your chances of success.
