I am planning to take the GMAT in 3 months time. How can I prepare for the GMAT on my own, without any coaching?

You can absolutely prepare for the GMAT on your own in three months — and many students do it successfully. What matters most is having a clear study plan and staying consistent with your efforts.

Start by understanding the exam format and getting the official GMAT guide. Spend the first few weeks revising the basics in Quant and Verbal. Don’t try to rush — use this time to build your foundation. Resources like GMAT Club, Manhattan books, and YouTube videos are great for this.

In the second month, start solving questions daily and track your accuracy. Time yourself often. Build a habit of reviewing your mistakes and revisiting weak areas. This is where real progress happens.

By the third month, take 4–5 full-length mock tests. Focus more on strategy, stamina, and managing stress. Review every test carefully  not just what you got wrong, but also how you approached the questions.

With the right focus and discipline, you don’t need coaching. What you do need is a smart plan, the right materials, and a bit of self-belief. You've got this.
