It’s true that some universities in the USA have waived off the GRE score requirement. Here’s a list:

Florida International University
Long Island university
Marshall University
University of Utah
Northeastern Illinois University
The University of Alabama
SUNY New Paltz College
Northern Arizona University

If you want to give the GRE exam but not sure on how to prepare, I have also created a list of books that will help you score 320+ in GRE:
Kaplan GRE Prep Plus

ETS GRE Prep Book: The Official Guide
Magoosh GRE Prep Book
The Princeton Review: cracking the GRE
Barron’s GRE Test Prep

If you are still confused about whether you should give the GRE or not or if you have any more doubts, you should directly get in touch with Study Abroad Experts here. They will analyse your profile and will help you with all the information as well as in the application process.
