There are several reasons why students should enrol in STEM-designated MBA programmes:
After completing their programme, students in the United States typically receive a one-year stay back option. Students who complete a STEM programme, on the other hand, can extend their stay by two years, for a total of three years. This means that students who choose STEM programmes can earn in dollars for at least three years before applying for an H1-B (work) visa, giving them a better chance of recouping the money they spent on tuition, living expenses, and so on while studying.
STEM MBA programmes offer a broader range of employment opportunities. Students who have pursued a STEM MBA are perceived to have better analytical skills, and as a result, such students are preferred for jobs, particularly those requiring heavy analysis such as finance, consulting, and business analytics. Such students also have an advantage when interviewing at tech behemoths such as Google, Uber, Apple, and Microsoft.Â
The eligibility criteria for a STEM MBA program is similar as that of a non-STEM MBA program:
A 4 Year undergraduate degree – very few programs allow 3-year undergraduate degrees
Undergrad GPA of at least 3.0 / 4.0
At least 2 years of work experience
GRE / GMAT scores – needed for most programs, especially top ones
TOEFL / IELTS scores
