Ivy League universities like Harvard, Cornell, and Penn offer some of the most outstanding MBA programs in the nation. Furthermore, despite the eye-popping tuition costs associated with a business school degree from these prestigious universities, these courses prepare students for managerial positions that pay similarly high incomes. For example, Harvard Business School graduates in mid-career make a median yearly salary of more than $200,000.

What is required to enrol in an Ivy League MBA program?

  • Optimal GMAT scores: Although MBA schools at Ivy League universities tend not to establish minimum exam scores, you may expect a relatively high bar.
  • Superior Undergraduate GPA: Although Ivy League universities frequently seek out high achievers, their MBA programs do not require a minimum GPA. However, class profiles show that the typical GPA falls between 3.3 and 3.7.
  • Prior professional experience: Applicants typically have five years of professional experience in most Ivy League MBA programs. It is Brown University that stands out.
  • Solid essays and recommendation letters: Strong MBA essays allow you to take charge of your narrative, showcase achievements and outline academic and professional aspirations. Ivy League MBA programs look for well-rounded applicants, so highlighting your commitment to volunteer work and civic engagement might make you stand out. Just as important as your accomplishments in the professional sector is your ability to show a commitment to your community.
  • Possess a solid résumé in school and outside of it: Ivy League MBA programs strive for high-achieving applicants, in contrast to schools like Dartmouth that make it evident that your GPA does not define you. Although your undergraduate record may not hurt your chances of getting into an Ivy League school, schools will look at your GPA, test results, and work history to determine how successful you will be.

  • GRE average scores for all topics range from 155 to 170.

Ivy League colleges want three recommendation letters from people who know you well and can speak to your qualifications. While most universities are content with one or two, Ivy League schools prefer three.
