Struggling with time management on GMAT Data Insights is common, especially because it involves more reading than solving.
Here&rsquo;s what actually helps:

Get used to tab-switching under time pressure. A lot of DI sets have info split across tabs, and flipping back and forth eats time if you're not used to it
Practice DI in timed mini-sets (2&ndash;3 questions) at least 4 times a week&mdash;this builds both accuracy and stamina
Mentr Me and GMAT Club both have DI-style sets that match the GMAT format, especially in visuals and logic
Always read the question first before diving into data&mdash;this saves time and keeps you focused
Don&rsquo;t try to get all 20 questions right. Focus on solving the early ones accurately&mdash;they impact your score the most.

Honestly, DI felt like a disaster the first time I tried it&mdash;like reading fast and understanding nothing.
I used to waste 3&ndash;4 minutes on one question set and still miss small details. What helped was slowing down just enough to spot &ldquo;blind spots&rdquo; in charts&mdash;like hidden labels, axis flips, or grouped values that confuse you without noticing. I started practicing chart-based questions daily on Mentr Me and used GMAT Club's timed quizzes to build speed under pressure.
I also stopped trying to solve everything. Some DI sets are just time traps. Now if a question looks way too wordy or split across too many tabs, I skip and return if I have time. That mindset shift helped me go from 6&ndash;7 correct to consistently hitting 10&ndash;11.
