Though 3.0 GPA is a common requirement for most of the universities abroad, however, If a student is applying for an undergraduate degree, then it is necessary to send his/her secondary educational information like grades and GPA for the program he/she is applying in. There is a cut-off score for each of them, it depends on the program that you are applying for.

In order to gauge the cheapest country to study for Indian students, one needs to take into consideration two factors -

  1. Money spent on tuition fees and
  2. living costs in the country.

Here are a few important requirements/documents for studying at any university abroad for Indian Students.

Application Form: The application process is unique for different universities and countries. Once you have chosen the course you want to opt for in a university, fill in the application form with all your personal and professional details.

  • Test Scores: Applicants are required to appear for different general and language exams to be eligible to study internationally. Your test scores for these exams (IELTS, SAT, GMAT, LSAT, ACT, GRE) have a huge impact on your acceptance into the preferred university.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP): This article consists of your background, career goals, and reason to pursue a particular program in the university
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR): an academic letter of recommendation from a manager or professor promoting your skills, experience, achievements, and contributions.
  • Transcripts: Transcripts are a student’s academic record, like a consolidated mark sheet.
  • Resume or CV: A resume or a CV is an overview of your professional and academic timeline.
  • Student Visa: Another important requirement to be applied to study abroad.

I hope this answers your question.

Typically, universities look for a minimum of 60-70% in secondary education for undergraduate programs and 70-80% for postgraduate courses. However, some prestigious institutions might demand higher scores, often exceeding 80%.

Regarding fees, studying abroad can indeed be more expensive than in India. According to recent data from QS, the average annual tuition fees for international undergraduate students range from $7,000 to $45,000, depending on the country and institution.

Additionally, living expenses such as accommodation, food, and transportation should be factored in, which can vary significantly based on the location.
For cost-effective options, consider countries like Germany, Norway, or Finland, where tuition fees are either very low or non-existent for international students. Furthermore, scholarships, grants, and part-time work opportunities can alleviate financial burdens.

Also, Start by researching universities and their admission criteria. Prepare well for standardized tests like the TOEFL or IELTS, and if required, the GRE or GMAT.

Hi

On average, 3.0 GPA is required to study abroad for STEM and non- STEM courses. The minimum requirement is higher for top institutions.

The tuition fees can be higher compared to the cost of education in India. It vary with countries and courses. Apart from the tuition fees, international students must also find the cost of living too.

The study abroad process is long and hectic if you apply alone. I suggest you connect with a study abroad consultant to get personalized study abroad support.
