Even though the majority of German universities do not charge tuition and the majority of German cities do not have prohibitively high housing costs, authorities still want to know if you have the financial means to study and live in Germany, at least for the first year of your studies, before they grant you a German student visa and residence permit.

The most popular way for overseas students in Germany to demonstrate their financial stability is currently a blocked account. An account that has been barred is a particular kind of bank account made for the use of international students as a place to deposit funds needed to live in Germany.

Because you won't have access to it until you reach Germany, it is viewed as a blocked account. You won't have immediate access to it even after your arrival. Your regular bank account will be where the provider of the blocked account will deposit your funds every month. The German institutions are guaranteed that everything gets via them with a banned account.

The Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz, also known as BAföG, specifies how much money you must have when living in Germany. The BAföG is a regulator of grants and loans for students in Germany.

The current cost of attending school in Germany is 861 euros per month or 10,332 euros per year. However, many students opt to deposit more money than the basic requirement to improve their chances of accepting their student visas.

Irish citizens and residents of the European Union are entitled to free public education at all levels in Ireland. This also applies to higher education. International students are not eligible for this perk, though.

Ordinarily, students enter undergraduate programs (including regular and honours degree programs) through the Central Applications Office (CAO). Instead of submitting separate applications to each university, prospective students might do so by using the CAO. Ireland's spring intake begins in February, while the fall intake begins in September. There may be year-round enrollments at some universities.

To be able to study in Ireland, you will require a study visa. Before applying, remember to demonstrate that you have at least €7,000 in your bank account. This sum covers an international student's living expenses for one academic year in Ireland. Additionally, you must demonstrate that, in addition to the course fee, you or your parents/sponsor will be able to pay at least €7000 for each year of your studies.
