How many past-year papers should I do each week to see real improvement?

Doing 3&ndash;4 past-year papers a week won&rsquo;t help unless you're reviewing them with analysis, not just focusing on scores. For most people, 1 full-length paper every 3&ndash;4 days works best.
Here&rsquo;s what actually helps: After each mock, spend the next day breaking it down. Make three categories&mdash;careless mistakes, concept gaps, and timing errors. Then pick 2&ndash;3 weak areas and drill 10&ndash;15 related questions the next day.
If you just take back-to-back papers without addressing what went wrong, you&rsquo;ll plateau fast. One mock, one review day, one focused drill day&mdash;that cycle helps way more than just volume.
Also, space out your mocks to mimic actual test-day pressure. Practicing under fatigue and simulating test conditions (same start time, no breaks, etc.) matters more than squeezing in extra papers.

You don&rsquo;t need to do a ton of past-year papers per week&mdash;2 full-length mocks per week is ideal if you want real improvement. But the key isn&rsquo;t how many you do&mdash;it&rsquo;s how well you review them.
After each mock, spend at least 2&ndash;3 hours reviewing your Verbal and Quant sections in detail. For every mistake, ask: Did I misread? Misjudge the logic? Rush due to time pressure? Log these by type, and revisit those patterns in targeted drills.
Also, don&rsquo;t skip questions you got right for the wrong reasons. If your logic was shaky but the answer was correct, that&rsquo;s still a red flag.
Mocks build test stamina and help improve pacing, but only if you're learning from them. Two per week is enough if you're doing focused review in between.
