The Kira interviews are usually 15 to 30 minutes long , depending on the school and the number of questions they ask. Most programs give 3 to 6 video questions, and for each one, you typically get 30–60 seconds to prepare and then 1–2 minutes to answer.
What many people don’t realize is that you go through the questions one after the other—you can’t pause the full session or come back later. So it’s important to be ready and stay focused for the full stretch. It’s not super long, but it can feel intense if you’re not used to thinking out loud on camera.
Most Kira video interviews are around 20 minutes long, but it depends on the school. Typically, you’ll face 4–5 recorded questions, each with prep and response time. But if your school includes a written question, that adds another 5–10 minutes on top.
For example, schools like INSEAD or Rotman may include 1–2 short written tasks where you get a question and a few minutes to type your answer. So if you’re doing both video and written parts, expect the whole thing to last closer to 30 minutes total.
Make sure to find a quiet spot and set aside uninterrupted time—you can’t pause midway once it starts.
