GRE Quant focuses more on arithmetic, algebra, number properties, and basic geometry. The questions are usually straightforward but include trap answers that rely on careful reading. On the other hand, GMAT Quant includes everything GRE has&mdash;but adds tougher word problems, harder algebra (like quadratic inequalities), and more abstract reasoning, especially in Data Sufficiency.
GMAT also puts more pressure on logic and time. The adaptive format punishes careless errors more heavily. Plus, calculators are allowed in GRE Quant (only on DI sets), while GMAT doesn&rsquo;t allow any&mdash;so strong mental math matters more in GMAT.
If someone is stronger at math fundamentals but slower at logic-heavy puzzles, GRE might feel smoother. For those good at structured reasoning under pressure, GMAT may fit better.
