One of the major negatives that come with studying abroad is the expense. The tuition fee for studying in universities abroad is quite a lot as compared to the universities in India. Things like accommodation, healthcare, groceries etc add upto the already enormous expense. So scholarships come as a saviour to any study abroad aspirant since they help waive off some of the burden of expenses.

While you can not get a fully-funded scholarship, you can look for scholarships that cover most part of your expenses. Here I have created a list of scholarships and what all do they cover:

1. Chevening Scholarship
Funded by the UK government, the scholarship rewards up to £18,000 (INR 18,00,000). The acceptance rate for the Chevening Scholarship is around 3%. As an example in 2019, of the 63000 applicants, only 1800 were awarded the scholarship.

2. Fulbright Nehru Master’s fellowship
The scholarship covers - a J-1 USA student visa support facility, economic class flight fares (round trip from the student’s hometown to the institution in the USA), 75%tuition fees, accident and sickness coverage as per the U.S. Government guidelines.
The scholarship is awarded to just 4000 international students each year.

3. Commonwealth Scholarship
Apart from the tuition fees, it covers airfare from the home country to the UK and return. The UK government also gives you a living allowance worth GBP 1084 per month. But the catch here is that this scholarship is awarded to ONLY 700 students each year, and the no. of applications is easily 90 Thousand to a Lakh.

As mentioned, the acceptance rate of these scholarships is pretty low and you need to be double sure if your profile matches their requirements. Different countries have different scholarships and not all schools in a country would accept a single scholarship. The point is, the scholarships accepted would be varying across countries, schools, programs etc.

So factors like your desired country, school, and program, all of it will help you find the right scholarship for you.

I suggest you to directly get in touch with Study Abroad Experts for FREE here. They will not just help you with all the information about scholarships but also assist you in the complete application process.
