The acceptance rate is around 10-15%, so yeah, it’s competitive. but not as much as HEC or LBS. Getting into ESSEC MIM is tough but totally doable if you have the right profile.

They care a lot about academics, GMAT/GRE (650+ is good), and international exposure. If you’ve got solid internships, leadership roles, or unique experiences, you’ll stand out. Work experience isn’t mandatory, but it helps. Also, ESSEC loves people with strong communication skills and a global mindset.

If you have a mix of good grades, a decent GMAT, and some solid experiences, you’ve got a shot. Just make sure your essays and interviews really show why you’re a great fit.

ESSEC’s Master in Management (MIM) is highly selective, with an estimated acceptance rate of 25-30%. But admissions go beyond just numbers—your GMAT (typically 640+), GRE, or CAT score, academic background (strong GPA in business, engineering, or economics), and internships or leadership roles play a significant role.

The program attracts students with strong analytical and leadership skills, often from business, economics, or STEM backgrounds. ESSEC values international exposure, so having exchange programs, multilingual skills, or global work experience can make you stand out. While work experience isn’t required, internships, entrepreneurial projects, or extracurricular leadership can strengthen your application.

Curious about the real competition? The ESSEC class profile and GMAT blog have the details.
