It's good that you are focusing on your Statement of Purpose (SOP) early. Abroad programs like Master in Management give priority to SOP. Even if you are sure about your enrollment, ignoring your SOP is never good. The trick is to keep it simple. For example, you do not need complex elements to make it look more professional.

If you have looked in SOP samples, you must know how simple the format is. Basically the only thing to consider while formatting a SOP is to keep every part in separate paragraphs, mixing two topics is a big NO. Like if you start with some explanation, finish it in the same para. Then after, continue the next one from next para.

Statement of Purpose is for specific reasons. The document is not just any letter handed to university as a fulfillment. In a SOP, the university asks you for motivation and decision making ability. For example the first and most important thing you will need to mention is why you are selecting the university and the program. This point is the very thing that names it Statement of Purpose. As the university is asking about your purpose for pursuing your selected program at the university.

Since your SOP is for a MIM program, you need to consider business and management modules. All asked documents like SOP, LORs and Essays are based on relevancy. If the information provided is not relevant, it's not good. Keep the course in mind the whole time you are building your SOP. Because the more elements it matches with your program and field, the better.

One more thing, SOPs are meant to be prepared in an interactive cum storytelling tone, however it doesn't mean you can use casual language. The document is very formal yet friendly. Try conveying your true intentions via a formal language. Just keep the tone friendly but not the words and language.

Lastly, a universal tip. Don’t forget to proofread your SOP. Do this otherwise you will regret it. These documents aren’t something to be taken casually. If you need some better insights, leave a comment below. I’ll share some SOP samples for you. It will help in getting a better perspective.
