Student at Shri Ram College of Commerce
Hello. I’m not going to lie, getting into HEC Paris is a challenge for sure. Recently my colleague who has been excellent during his academics was a part of this process. It made me sad to see him struggle, but as I was sure he did get in. Just keep one thing in mind; you can absolutely get into HEC Paris, a school that is counted as one of the best b schools globally. Even if you are low on qualifications, there are ways to fill.
So to start your way into HEC Paris, you will need some certain steps. I can either jot down a ledger here that will make everyone confused or I can simply put those in easy steps. I like the second one better, what about you? Okay, here it goes -
- keep you bachelor degree prepared
- gather all academic transcripts and documents like ID, photo, passport etc.
- attempt GRE/GMAT (mainly GMAT as HEC Paris is a b school)
- attempt English language test (European institutes prefer IELTS)
- prepare your SOP, LORs and Essays
- apply for admission at official page of the program
- fill out all details and upload all documents
- answer all questions asked and click submit
- after receiving admission letter, start your visa and scholarship process
- book a ticket and look for the Eiffel Tower :)
These easy 10 steps are enough to tell you the complete procedure. However, there are things in this list that you will need to focus on. Because it may seem simple and pretty, a school like HEC Paris demands dedication.
First, your undergrad GPA must meet the minimum requirement asked by the program. It is the basic criteria. After that, make sure you have to get at least GMAT 690 (the minimum set score asked by HEC Paris). I wrote it at least because you will actually need a GMAT 720+ score. The students applying to business programs at HEC Â Paris are all academically exceptional. To stand out, you will have to beat excellence with excellence.
The 5th step in the admission process is the most crucial one. SOP, LORs and Essays are the most crucial things in your admission process. I’ll say, even more than your work experience. When the admission committee uses these documents to make a decision between two equally deserving candidates.
I think I don’t have to mention that you will need an English language test score as well. European countries prefer IELTS over TOEFL so I recommend going for it if possible. It is an absolute essential that is not flexible at all. There you have it.
Do this and you are good to get admitted to HEC Paris. Is this answer your question or did I miss something? Do let me know if I can help, like say your profile evaluation?
