To get a post-study work visa in Australia, you can generally apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa. Such a visa applies to international students who completed more than two years of study in Australia. Such a visa allows you to live and work in Australia between two to four years depending on your acquired level of degree.

For instance, the master's degree and bachelor's degree holder is granted permission for up to 2 years whereas that who has the doctorate level degree is allowed permission for up to 4 years.

You should apply for this visa within six months after completing your studies. You will require the following: holding a valid student visa at the time of application and meeting the requirements of English proficiency and health insurance. Before applying, you should prepare your documents like academic transcripts, passport, and proof of health insurance. After getting this visa, you are provided with valuable work experience that could lead to more residency in Australia.

Australia is also providing easy entry through its post-study work visa by making it available for its students to obtain under subclass 485, the Temporary Graduate Visa. The student can stay in the country if they have completed higher education in Australia like a bachelor's or master's qualification, after staying for two years or more within an academic year, hence he would be allowed to work and stay for two to four years according to his graduation degree.

You should also apply within six months after completing your course and bring all key documents, which include a completion letter from your university, proof of health insurance, and any other English proficiency tests if that is a requirement. Many students use this visa to gain work experience in Australia, and it is one of the stepping stones into other visas, such as the skilled migration visa, if they want to stay long-term.
