Country Expert : Canada
Hey, Yes, it is completely worthwhile. However, before you start, please keep the following in mind:
Pursuing an LLM in another country will be a risky investment.
Your goal is higher education, not immigration to that country.
Both of these points are related to the fact that firms prefer recruiting candidates who have finished an LLB in that nation since it is recognised as a licence to practise law (even if you are not currently in 'practise'); while the LLM grants no such licence. Furthermore, your qualifications are insufficient to circumvent the visa limits. Having said that, the LLM abroad emphasises on research rather than spoon-fed learning, broadening your horizons and significantly expanding your knowledge base. Furthermore, the numerous research instruments required are not even covered in the Indian Legal Education. Because the course is based on assignments rather than exams, you must demonstrate a knowledge of the law rather than rote memorising. As a result, the total experience and teaching style alter your understanding and perspective on legal issues. According to my knowledge and research, the most prestigious law schools are in the United States. Other countries with highly regarded and well-known law schools and LLM programmes include the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

Doing Btech from Shree Ram College of Engg. & Management in Final year
I've been working in law for a few years now. From my experience, the best place to study law depends on what you want to do in the future. If you're thinking about big international cases, the USA and the UK are great because they have famous law schools like Harvard and Oxford. But if you're interested in learning about the law in a particular country, like France or Germany, it might be better to study there. Remember, the name and network of the school can be really important too.
Â
Choosing the best country to study law internationally is a significant decision that aligns with your career aspirations and personal preferences. For students looking towards a career in international law, corporate law, or litigation in multinational firms, the United States and the United Kingdom are unparalleled.Â
Their law schools, such as Harvard, Yale, and Oxford, are globally recognized for their excellence, alumni networks, and career opportunities. However, it's essential to consider the legal system you wish to practice in – common law or civil law.Â
Countries like Canada and Australia also offer exceptional law programs and might be more suitable if you're looking for a more balanced lifestyle with quality education. Remember, it's about finding the right fit for your career goals and where you envision building your legal career.
