Hey, I don’t have any work experience and completing my graduation in 2023. I am planning to prepare for my Gmat this year so that I can apply for the colleges in 2023 as soon as I complete my grad. But the colleges ask for experience in the USA so I m confused whether I should write the paper this year or next year. Also, I came to know about deferred admissions in some of the colleges. So can u please elaborate about the same and help me out with what should I do?

Hi Nandini. Hope you’re doing good!

So from what I know, there are some colleges which invite applicants without work experience as well. I feel you should write the GMAT exam this year and not waste the opportunity. Also, work experience and GMAT are not the only requirements, you should also have a decent GPA, a nice score in the English proficiency test (IELTS/TOEFL) and well written SOPs and LORs in order to increase your chances of getting shortlisted in your dream university. I think you should get in touch with experts who can guide you to the exact universities which give admission without any work ex requirement. 

Also, you can always opt for a MiM since it offers basically the same skills and opportunities and people with no work ex are preferred.

As far as deferred admission is concerned, students who are deferred, have high chances of re-evaluation over the students who have been waitlisted.
