All undergraduate programmes that accept direct entry from high school require five specific Grade 12 subjects, which vary by programme but always include English 30-1. (or the equivalent in your province). The University of Alberta offers a diverse range of programmes, from the most accessible to the most competitive. You must present a competitive average for your faculty/program of choice based on the required courses for that programme to be considered for admission. The competitive average for each faculty/program may change throughout the year depending on the applicant pool's competitiveness. Meeting the minimum or competitive average does not guarantee admission, and each programme has a limited number of seats. All undergraduate applicants must have a sufficient English Language Proficiency (ELP) level to be considered for admission. Spoken English Proficiency (SEP) is also required in some cases. (French language proficiency is required for French-language programmes.) Most Canadian applicants will automatically meet the ELP requirement because they have completed at least three years of full-time English education in Canada. Otherwise, there are several ways to demonstrate ELP, such as TOEFL and IELTS exam results. If you have any further questions just ask me.
