Germany is a popular study abroad destination for international students. Germany has kept its head high in terms of education, from technology-related fields to other trending courses. The second most appealing aspect of Germany is its lifestyle and culture. If you want to study in Germany, the first step is to learn about the universities' eligibility requirements. Before you apply, here are a few things you should know:

A senior secondary examination grade of 90% or higher is required for UG courses. A student must take competitive exams such as the JEE.
Universities require TOEFL (90-100), IELTS (6.0-7.0), or other English proficiency test scores for UG and PG courses.
70-75% or higher is required for PG courses.
Some universities may even require a good GRE score.
Pass the graduation certificate for PG courses and the senior secondary certificate for UG courses.
Since you haven’t mentioned the nature of your course so, here are the eligibility criteria for master’s as well:

An Undergraduate Degree: One of the main requirements for master's degrees in Germany is an undergraduate degree. Furthermore, in order to be admitted to any good university in Germany, international students must have a minimum of 75% of their bachelor's degree.
CGPA: Your academic performance is extremely important during your German MS admission. To apply for a Master's degree in Germany, you must have a CGPA of at least 7.5 out of 10. Remember that your graduation percentage and CGPA are important factors in your admission.
TOEFL or IELTS Score: MS in Germany requires language proficiency tests such as IELTS or TOEFL. To be admitted to the university, international students must demonstrate their language proficiency. German universities accept a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 60-90. The better your language skills, the better your chances of admission to prestigious universities.
GRE or GMAT: If you want to pursue a Master's degree in Germany, you will need to take the GMAT or GRE. Check the university's official website for information on the types of test scores accepted for admission. This means that if you want to apply for an MS in Aerospace at one of the German universities, the GMAT test score will be accepted as your admission qualifier. Then, in order to apply, you must submit your GMAT scores. A high GMAT or GRE score can help you gain admission to the best global universities for a Master's degree.
TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language): Some German universities require a German proficiency test score. This, however, is not always the case. Most universities that offer English-taught courses require an IELTS or TOEFL score for admission.

In Germany, the requirement for the GRE depends on the specific public university and the program you're interested in. While some universities might not require it, having a good GRE score can be an advantage, especially if your CGPA is on the lower side of the panel. As a consultant with years of experience, I advise students in similar situations to consider taking the GRE to boost their applications. It can serve as evidence of your academic capabilities and fitness for graduate studies. Additionally, it's important to present a well-rounded application, highlighting your strengths, experiences, and motivation for pursuing the chosen course.

Study BBA from IPS University in Final Year. Looking forward for my masters abroad.

As a current international student residing in Germany, I can tell you that the GRE requirement varies across universities and programs in Germany. While some public universities may not strictly require the GRE, having a good score can certainly enhance your application, particularly if your CGPA isn't very strong. It helps to show your commitment and keenness for graduate-level studies. However, it's also important to focus on other aspects of your application, like your statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and any relevant work or research experience. They can be an add-on!

As a study abroad consultant, I advise students that while the GRE is not universally required for all programs at public universities in Germany, it can be crucial for certain fields, particularly if you have a low CGPA. Universities use the GRE to gauge a candidate's ability in various areas that are essential for academic success, particularly in STEM programs.

If your CGPA is below the typical threshold of the program you’re aiming for, submitting a strong GRE score can help offset that aspect of your application. However, it's not just about meeting the minimum requirements. A high GRE score can significantly enhance your application, showcasing your commitment and capability to handle rigorous academic challenges.

Before preparing for the GRE, I recommend reviewing the admission requirements of the specific programs you are interested in. Not all programs require the GRE; some may prioritize work experience, portfolio, or other qualifications. Additionally, improving other elements of your application, like your statement of purpose and securing impactful recommendations, is equally important to present a well-rounded application. Always tailor your application to highlight your strengths and address any shortcomings head-on.
