For those who scored 165+ in GRE Quant, how many questions did you get wrong?

I remember being surprised when I got a 166 in GRE Quant even after getting two questions wrong. The scoring isn’t just about the total number wrong, it also depends on which questions you miss and where they appear in the section.

Both of my mistakes were in the middle, not in the first few or last few, which I think helped. I also noticed that numeric entry questions feel riskier—there’s no safety net with answer choices, so even a small slip can cost more.

What worked for me was flagging any question that felt off and revisiting it with fresh eyes. I ended up correcting one of them in the final two minutes. It wasn’t a speed game—it was about staying calm and minimizing careless errors.

So yeah, even with a couple of wrong answers, a 165+ is still very possible if the rest of your section is solid.
