Many schools are now adopting Duolingo online exams as an alternative to IELTS and TOEFL due to the epidemic since these examinations are not available in many regions.

The Duolingo test is a computer-based English proficiency examination considered at par with Cambridge English Exams, PTE and TOEFL. It is simple to conduct and is affordable for students seeking admission abroad.

The primary advantage of this test is students can take it from anywhere and it has a duration of just an hour. Results are available within the next two days. Due to such convenience, more than 3,000 institutions globally recognize the DET test scores for English proficiency.

1,326 universities in the USA accept Duolingo test scores for enrolling students. Some of these reputed institutions are listed below–

Yale University - minimum score 120

Harvard University - minimum score 125

Cornell University - minimum score 120

NYU Stern School of Business - minimum score 120

Massachusetts Institute of Technology - minimum score 120

University of California Berkeley - minimum score 115

University of Pennsylvania - minimum score 120

Johns Hopkins University - minimum score 120

So it’s clear 105 is a pretty good score. You need to check the universities accepting the Duolingo score as well as catering to your choice of course.

If you need any help with the same, just let me know what course do you wish to pursue and also if you have any country preferences. I shall then help you with suitable information.

A score of 105 on the Duolingo test could be very good, considering the contexts in which you would apply it. Many of the universities and the institutions would set minimum requirements for scores, usually 85 to 120. Then if you have a score of 105 and well above the average threshold for most places, that probably means you know a lot of the English language.

Anyway, requirements at every university vary. So, one must check score requirements by institutions one is applying to. Some competitive programs may look for scores closer to 120, and others would accept 105 or even less. Remember that your score is one of the components in your application. Other elements that play the most in determining your admission probability include your academic record, recommending letters, and a personal statement.

Where more competitive schools might expect a bit higher score like 115 or even 120, it's worth investigating the requirements each of the universities you are applying to specify. That way, you won't have any surprises later on.

But with a 105 score, you have already opened yourselves up to a whole lot of possibilities. Most programs would look at that and know you'd manage courses being done in English. For undergrad studies, this score should be pretty good. Graduate schools might get slightly stricter, so just check on yourself by yourself.

Maybe you can take it again if you think there is a potential for improvement and you also have enough time. Otherwise, if satisfied and meets the requirements of your targeted schools, then nothing to worry about.

The Duolingo score is just one side of the application. Grades, essays, and other qualifications are taken into consideration by admissions committees. So keep up the good work on all fronts.

Scoring 105 is a sturdy achievement. Congratulations for that! Now you can focus on the rest of your application and get excited about your plans to study abroad.
