Do I stand a chance at Bocconi MFin with my profile?

I’m from India and completed my BCom (Hons) from Delhi University with a 7.5 CGPA. I’ve done two internships — one in corporate banking with a private Indian bank and another in a small investment advisory firm. Currently preparing for CFA Level 1 and planning to take the GMAT, aiming for around 660–680. I don’t have full-time work experience yet, just internships and some finance-related projects from college. The goal is to break into investment banking or asset management in Europe. Do you think this profile is strong enough for Bocconi MFin, or would it be smarter to first build up some work experience before applying?

Bocconi MFin is realistic with your profile, but it won&rsquo;t be a &ldquo;safe admit.&rdquo; The program usually admits candidates with GMAT 650&ndash;700, and a 7.5 CGPA from DU plus relevant internships does fit what they look for. Your CFA prep also signals commitment to finance, which helps offset the lack of full-time experience.
The weaker point is that you don&rsquo;t yet have brand-name internships or long-duration work. That doesn&rsquo;t rule you out &mdash; Bocconi admits plenty of students straight after undergrad &mdash; but it means you&rsquo;ll need a strong GMAT closer to 680 to stand out. If you hit that score, you&rsquo;d likely be competitive.
Career-wise, Bocconi&rsquo;s brand is strongest in Milan and Frankfurt, with analyst roles at Mediobanca, UniCredit, Deutsche Bank, and some reach into London. For London IB, competition is heavier, and you&rsquo;d need to leverage Bocconi&rsquo;s IB track plus networking aggressively.

Lack of full-time experience isn&rsquo;t a dealbreaker for Bocconi MFin &mdash; the school admits many students directly after undergrad, especially from India. What they&rsquo;ll check is whether your profile shows enough quant and finance exposure.
&bull; With 7.5 CGPA from DU, you&rsquo;re in the acceptable academic range. A 660 GMAT keeps you competitive, but pushing closer to 680&ndash;690 will strengthen your case. &bull; Two internships in corporate banking and investment advisory show relevant exposure. Many Bocconi admits have a similar background &mdash; not long careers, just targeted internships. &bull; CFA Level 1 is useful. Admissions know most students don&rsquo;t pass CFA by the time they apply, but even enrollment shows seriousness about finance. &bull; For placements, Bocconi is excellent in Milan and Frankfurt, but internationals usually target London for higher-paying IB roles (~&pound;65k&ndash;70k + bonus).
