Yeah, consulting firms definitely have their go-to schools — especially MBB (McKinsey, BCG, Bain). In Europe, schools like INSEAD, LBS, and HEC Paris are major targets. These programs have strong consulting clubs, tons of alumni already at the firms, and well-established recruiting pipelines.

That doesn’t mean others can’t get in — but if you’re coming from a less traditional school like ESMT Berlin or POLIMI, you’ll need to network more aggressively and ace the case interviews. Firms value structured thinking, leadership, and communication — and some schools just have more training and culture built around that.

Location also plays a part. Schools based in London or Paris naturally get more attention from local offices. So yeah, the MBA you choose does matter — it won’t guarantee an offer, but being at a target school gives you a noticeable head start.
