The GMAT Focus Edition can be taken multiple times without hurting your chances. Most business schools focus on the best overall score you submit. Admissions committees know that many serious applicants take the GMAT more than once to maximize their potential, especially because a small jump from 680 to 710 can make a big difference for scholarships and top school admits.

Technically, you can attempt the GMAT Focus up to five times in a year, but it’s smart to plan no more than two serious attempts. If you take the exam four or five times with very little score improvement, some top schools might see it as a concern. As long as your final score shows clear improvement or crosses key school averages, retaking is seen as a sign of persistence, not a weakness.

Yes, you can take the GMAT Focus Edition more than once—up to 5 times in 12 months and 8 times in your lifetime. Most MBA applicants retake it, especially if their first score isn’t in the target range.

Top schools like Wharton, INSEAD, and Booth consider only your highest score. They don’t average attempts or penalize multiple tries. If your score improves—say from 610 to 675—that’s seen positively. It shows effort and growth.

What might raise concern is taking the test several times without improving, but even then, the final score carries more weight. Schools care more about your full profile—work experience, academics, essays—not just the GMAT.

Yes, retaking the GMAT Focus Edition won’t hurt your application. Most applicants take it more than once, especially if their first attempt is below average.

Schools like Kellogg, Ross, and Oxford Saïd only look at your best score, not how many times you took the test. If you improve—from 615 to 660, for example—that’s actually a good sign. It shows determination.

Even with three or four attempts, what matters is the final result. If your score remains the same across attempts, it may raise questions, but it’s rarely a dealbreaker. Admissions teams don’t reject people just for retaking the test.

Yes, you can take the GMAT Focus Edition more than once. In fact, you’re allowed up to five attempts in a 12-month period and a maximum of eight attempts in a lifetime. Retaking the test is very common and does not negatively affect your MBA application. Schools usually only consider your highest score, not how many times you took the exam.

A lot of applicants take the test twice or even three times to hit a competitive score, especially if they are aiming for top programs. It’s pretty normal to see candidates improve by 30–50 points between the first and second attempts, especially after adjusting strategies based on the first experience. So retaking is not a red flag at all if the final score is strong.
