There is a myth that Duolingo is easier than its counterparts like IELTS and TOEFL. It is also designed to assess good language skills just as both the other exams are designed to do.

Duolingo is globally recognized by over 1000 institutes in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, China, Japan, Qatar, Thailand and other European countries and coming to Australia specifically, the Duolingo test is widely accepted by more than 500 universities across Australia.

I have created a list of the top universities that you can consider:
  1. Monash University
  2. Australian National University
  3. JMC Academy
  4. Griffith University
  5. Melbourne Institute of Technology
  6. Western Sydney University
  7. Edith Cowan University
  8. Sydney Institute of Business and Technology
  9. Curtin University
  10. Kaplan Business School

This is a general university list where the Duolingo test is accepted. There are a lot more universities that you can apply to but all that depends on your profile and the course that you wish to pursue.
You need to find universities that provide the course that you are interested in as well as align with your profile.

I know it sounds like a difficult task but you can check out the FREE School Explore Tool here. It will generate a list of schools based on your profile and you can also mention your exam preferences. It will definitely help you in shortlisting the right school.

Let me know if you need any other information from my end like how to apply, documents required etc.

Yes, you can go to Australia with a Duolingo English Test, but it depends on the university or institution you're applying to.

Some Australian universities accept the Duolingo test as proof of English language proficiency, while others may still prefer tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

Here are some important points to consider:

1. Accepted by Some Universities:

Several Australian universities, especially in the current situation, have started accepting Duolingo as an alternative to other tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

However, it is crucial to check the specific requirements of the university you are applying to, as not all universities accept Duolingo.

2. Check Program-Specific Requirements:

Even if a university accepts the Duolingo test, some specific programs or faculties may have their own language test preferences.

Make sure to confirm with the program you are applying for.

3. Temporary Acceptance:

Some institutions may only accept Duolingo temporarily due to restrictions caused by the pandemic.

So, it's always a good idea to confirm whether this is a long-term policy or a temporary measure.

4. Minimum Scores:

Universities that accept Duolingo usually have a minimum score requirement. Ensure you achieve or exceed this score to meet their eligibility.

5. Visa Requirements:

While the Duolingo test may work for university admissions, it is also essential to consider the English language requirements for your student visa.

Australian immigration often prefers tests like IELTS for visa processing. Always verify with immigration authorities to ensure you meet their language criteria.
