GMAT isn’t mandatory for XLRI PGDM (GM). Indian applicants can apply through GMAT, GRE, or XAT, and there’s no stated preference for one over the other. All scores are evaluated equally, as long as they’re within the valid window.

  • A GMAT score of 680–700, GRE equivalent, or XAT 88–92 percentile is usually considered competitive
  • NRI candidates must apply via GMAT or GRE; XAT is not accepted for them
  • From a recruiter’s perspective, your admission test doesn’t matter, they’re more interested in your job experience, domain skills, and how well you perform during placement rounds
  • So whichever test plays to your strengths is fine, just make sure the rest of your application (SOP, interview, work experience) is equally strong

Bottom line is XLRI and recruiters care more about your readiness and fit than your test choice.
