Yes, it’s possible to get into LBS MiM with a GMAT score below the average of 690, provided the rest of your application is strong. LBS takes a comprehensive  approach—considering your academics, leadership experience, internships, and career goals.

For instance, one applicant with a GMAT score of 660 was admitted after showcasing excellent undergraduate results, relevant internships, and well-crafted essays that clearly explained their motivation for the program. Strong letters of recommendation also supported their case.

So while a higher score helps, a well-rounded application can still make you competitive.

Yes, you can get into London Business School (LBS) with a low GMAT but it depends how low your score is.As LBS does not set a minimum GMAT score for its Masters in Management (MiM) program; however, it recommends applicants to have a score of 600 or above so anyways you have to score around this.

While a GMAT score below 600 does not automatically disqualify an applicant, it may be considered less competitive. LBS evaluates applications holistically, considering factors such as academic performance, essays, references, and overall fit with the program. A lower GMAT score can be offset by strong performance in these other areas.

For more detailed information on the application process and requirements, you should refer to the official LBS MiM application page

A low GMAT score doesn’t automatically block your chances at LBS MiM. Although the average score is around 690, there are successful cases where candidates with scores like 675 got in by highlighting strengths in other areas.

One such applicant had a 675 GMAT but demonstrated strong academics, international exposure, and leadership through extracurricular involvement. Their application stood out thanks to a clear post-MiM career plan and relevant work experience.

If your score is slightly below average, focusing on your quant ability, motivation, and overall profile can help bridge the gap.

Getting into LBS MiM with a low GMAT is difficult, but not impossible. Most admits score between 645 and 675(gmat focus edition scores as gmat doesn’t exist anymore), and anything below 620 is considered weak. If your GMAT is on the lower end, the rest of your profile needs to stand out.

This means having a GPA of 3.6 or higher, internships at top firms like Deloitte, EY, or J.P. Morgan, or holding leadership roles in university clubs or startups. For example, leading a team of 10+ in a national-level competition or launching a campus initiative can add weight. Well-crafted essays and strong recommendations can help tie your story together, but a score below 600 typically requires something exceptional to balance it out.

Yes, you can get into LBS MiM with a low GMAT score, but it’s not easy—especially now that the old GMAT no longer exists and only the GMAT Focus Edition is accepted (scored out of 805). For the LBS MiM program, most admitted students score between 645 and 675, and anything below 620 is considered on the lower end. Candidates with weaker scores have improved their chances by completing courses like HBS CORe, scoring above 80% in undergrad quant-heavy subjects, or gaining internships at firms like BCG, KPMG, or Amazon. A candidate with a 615 GMAT was accepted after combining strong academics with a tech consulting internship and a standout essay. Just keep in mind, a lower GMAT might reduce scholarship options.
