Can I get into Boston University MiM if I have a 7.4 CGPA and only virtual internships?

I’m in my final year of BBA with a CGPA of 7.4. I’ve done two internships ,  both were work-from-home and lasted around 2 months each. One was in digital marketing and the other in operations for a small startup.
I’ve been part of a couple of student clubs in college but nothing major in terms of leadership. No international exposure yet, and I haven’t taken the GRE so far.
I’m interested in the Boston University MiM (MSMS), but not sure if my profile is strong enough. Do they accept students with average academics and basic internship experience, or do I need something more competitive?

Plenty of students get in without big-name internships or flashy grades &mdash; the key is proving you know what you want and why BU fits.

A 7.4 CGPA isn&rsquo;t a red flag for BU MiM. They regularly accept applicants with similar academic scores.
Virtual internships are totally fine &mdash; especially post-2020. What matters is whether you can show real tasks you handled, not just the title.
Since you haven&rsquo;t taken the GRE, you could still strengthen your profile by adding a short-term course or capstone project &mdash; something quant-heavy or related to analytics.
Students with limited leadership or international exposure have still gotten in, as long as their SOP clearly explained their goals and motivation.
Someone with a similar background (remote internships, mid GPA, no GRE) got in last year &mdash; they added a Coursera data analysis course and explained their career path well.

BU isn&rsquo;t only looking for prestige &mdash; they look for drive, fit, and clear intent.

Boston University MiM is known to admit students with mid-range GPAs and virtual internship experience, especially if the rest of the profile shows interest and effort. A 7.4 CGPA won&rsquo;t disqualify anyone &mdash; many admitted students fall in the 7.0&ndash;8.0 range.
What matters more is how well the SOP connects your experiences to the program. Two short remote internships are okay, especially if you explain what you contributed and learned. Since both were in relevant business areas (marketing + ops), they actually align well with the MSMS track.
GRE isn&rsquo;t mandatory, but a good score (say 310&ndash;315) can help if you want to compensate for the average CGPA. Also, showing that you&rsquo;ve picked up certifications or taken initiative beyond just coursework &mdash; like Google Analytics, Excel, or SQL &mdash; could boost your credibility. BU isn&rsquo;t just looking for top-tier resumes; they care about clarity and consistency.
