Skipping the GMAT or GRE won’t block scholarships everywhere — but it does make things more competitive.
- Some U.S. schools, such as Vanderbilt Owen, Babson, and Boston University, have awarded scholarships to applicants without test scores.
- These schools evaluate GPA, work experience, and leadership more closely to assess merit.
- However, top-tier schools like INSEAD or LBS may still require a strong GMAT/GRE for higher scholarship tiers, even if waivers are allowed for admission.
- Without a test score, your essays, resume, and interview performance carry more weight in scholarship decisions.
- A strong undergrad record in quant-heavy subjects or an employer endorsement can sometimes balance out the lack of a score.
It’s possible to win scholarships without a test, but having a GMAT Focus or GRE score still helps for the most competitive awards.
