Can I apply for MFin right after graduation or do I need work experience?

Work experience is not mandatory for most MFin programs—especially in Europe and the UK.
- Schools like LSE, ESSEC, and Bocconi accept fresh grads and don’t require full-time roles
- What matters more is performance in subjects like calculus, probability, statistics, corporate finance, and accounting
- Summer internships, CFA Level 1, or leading a finance society in college help demonstrate interest
- These programs expect applicants to explain why they want to enter finance right after undergrad
Some US programs may prefer some experience, but even schools like MIT Sloan have early-career tracks. If the transcript shows strength in quant-heavy courses and the SOP is solid, applying straight after graduation is completely valid.
