Jumping into GMAT Verbal questions too fast can feel frustrating — especially if English isn’t your first language. What helped was building reasoning and reading habits step by step.
• Start with LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible, not GMAT-specific, but excellent for understanding arguments and assumption traps
• Use BBC Learning English for structured reading and grammar basics to improve comprehension flow
• Read one short article per day from National Geographic or The Hindu. Then summarize each paragraph aloud, helps train focus and memory
• Practice one official Guide RC passage daily under a timer, and keep a note of common trap answer types
• Mentr Me’s Verbal videos are helpful for beginners, they break down CR question types clearly with examples
Instead of rushing through questions, the goal is to read better and think more clearly. That’s where the score gains come from.

For non-native English speakers, the best GMAT Verbal resources build reasoning and reading skills step by step.
Start with the Verbal Foundations book from Manhattan Prep — it focuses on reading structure, logic, and comprehension basics. For Critical Reasoning, Powerscore’s CR Bible breaks down argument types and teaches how to approach each logically.
For Reading Comprehension, timed daily practice works best — start with one OG passage per day, or use articles from The Economist and Scientific American to build stamina. If you prefer video lessons, Target Test Prep Verbal is worth exploring. Their platform covers CR and RC with gradual pacing and detailed breakdowns.
Don’t start with the Official Guide right away. Build core reading and logic skills first , it makes Official Guide practice much more effective later on.
