Almost all major universities in the country require aspirants to demonstrate proof of funds before getting admission; hence, there are only a few university-based scholarships for international students. Yet, several private and government scholarships may benefit international students.

Scholarships for MBA students in US colleges

1. Illinois State University
This provides international postgraduate students with partial tuition waivers. However, every semester, you must pay $5,000, or around 3.75 lakhs Indian rupees. Excellent academic records are one of the eligibility requirements.

2. University of Oregon
The college offers several scholarships that are awarded based on applicants' GPAs and their test results. In addition, the university provides Indian students with the Sushil Jajodia Scholarship, which awards $3,000 or around 2.25 lakhs Indian rupees. Each year, three scholarships are awarded.

3. New York University Wagner Scholarship
This scholarship program is a merit-based one. Therefore, those that are interested in applying should do so digitally. The candidate is chosen based on whether or not they fit the requirements and whether or not their application is complete.

The Dean's Scholarship is one of the scholarships available in this category; it covers all tuition costs regardless of the subject or degree program. The Public Service Scholarship offers students alternatives for partial or half scholarships based on the submitted application and overall merit. It pertains to all academic disciplines in the United States, including MBA.

Scholarships in the UK for MBA

1. Chevening Scholarships
This fellowship provides complete funding for Indian nationals to pursue a master's degree in the UK for one year. The prize involves paying your full tuition at the UK university and the opportunity to join the select group of Chevening Scholarship recipients worldwide.

2. Felix Scholarships
With the Felix Scholarship, exceptional Indian students can study law, among other graduate-level subjects, at the Universities of Oxford, Reading, and London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

This scholarship will pay the entire cost of tuition, as well as one round-trip ticket from India to the UK and a grant to cover living expenses (about £15,840). Awards are given throughout the entire term of your obligation to pay fees for the chosen course.

Here are some other scholarships that you can apply to:

  • International Scholarship
  • Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship
  • Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships
  • UBir India Outstanding Achievement Scholarships
  • Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarships
  • Global Excellence Scholarship
  • Humanitarian Scholarship

Hopefully, this will help you a lot. Make sure to check the requirements for every scholarship from the official sheet.

For Indian students aiming to pursue an MBA in the UK or an MBA in the USA, numerous scholarship opportunities can help alleviate the financial burden. In the UK one of the most prominent scholarships is the Chevening Scholarships, which cover a significant portion of the expenses, including tuition and living costs. Additionally, specific universities like Oxford and Cambridge offer scholarships like the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) scholarships, which are partial and full-cost scholarships based on both academic merit and financial need.

In the USA, the Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships are notable for offering comprehensive financial support, including tuition, living expenses, and travel. Beyond these, top business schools often have substantial financial aid offices that provide scholarships based on various criteria including merit, diversity, and financial need. I advise prospective students to research extensively and apply early for scholarships, as some have deadlines a year before the course begins. Networking with alumni and attending education fairs can also provide valuable insights and opportunities.
